SEDA Malaysia is a statutory body established under the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Act 2011 [Act 726]. The primary role of SEDA Malaysia is to administer and manage the implementation of the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) mechanism, which has been mandated under the Renewable Energy Act (RE Act) 2011 [Act 725].
Under this Act, five (5) renewable energy sources have been identified and meet the criteria for implementation and for benefiting from the FiT mechanism, namely biomass, biogas, small hydropower, solar photovoltaic (PV), and geothermal.
Pillar Three (3) of the National Renewable Energy Policy and Action Plan outlines the need to intensify human capital development efforts within the Renewable Energy (RE) industry. SEDA Malaysia recognizes the critical need to enhance the knowledge and competency of local workers in the solar PV sector to ensure that installed systems are of high quality, comply with established standards, and are durable.
Therefore, SEDA Malaysia has developed the Grid-Connected Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System Installation and Maintenance training course to improve the efficiency of local solar PV service providers.
This course will be conducted at the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC), Akademi Binaan Malaysia (Northern Region), Kedah Industrial Skills and Management Development Centre (KISMEC), Terengganu Skills Development Centre (TESDEC), German-Malaysian Institute (GMI), and Pahang Skills Development Centre. The course fee includes the cost of learning materials (books) and meals throughout the program.
However, the fee does not include accommodation or transportation costs for participants traveling to the training centres.
